3. How we use your information

We use personal information where necessary to operate our business and respond to people who contact us. This may include:

  • responding to enquiries;

We do not sell personal information.

4. Our lawful basis for using personal information

Where applicable data-protection law requires a lawful basis for processing, we may process personal information because:

Contract — processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or to perform a contract with you.

Legitimate interests — processing is reasonably necessary for the operation and development of JFTB Events, including responding to business enquiries, managing professional relationships and improving our services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Consent — where we ask for your consent, including for the use of optional analytics cookies. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Legal obligation — where processing is necessary for us to comply with applicable law or regulatory requirements.

The lawful basis used will depend upon the circumstances and the reason we are processing the information.

5. Contact forms and enquiries

When you submit an enquiry through our website, we collect the information you enter into the form so that we can respond to you and, where appropriate, discuss our services or a potential project.

Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.

Please avoid including confidential, sensitive or unnecessary personal information in the enquiry form.

6. Website analytics

We use Squarespace Analytics and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to help us understand how visitors find and use our website.

Analytics information may include pages visited, approximate geographic location, browser and device information, referral source, interactions with the website and other usage information.

We use this information to understand website performance, identify which content is useful to visitors and improve the website and our services.

Google Analytics is provided by Google. Our website is hosted and operated using Squarespace.

Optional analytics cookies are restricted unless you give consent through our cookie controls.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Some cookies are necessary for a website to function correctly, while others can be used to understand how visitors use a website.

JFTB Events uses two broad categories:

Essential cookies
These are required for the operation, security and functionality of the website and do not require your consent where permitted by applicable law.

Analytics and other optional cookies
These help us understand website traffic and visitor behaviour. Optional cookies are restricted unless you choose to accept them through our cookie banner.

Our website currently uses Squarespace and Google Analytics services, which may place cookies or use similar technologies when permitted by your cookie preferences.

8. Managing your cookie preferences

When you first visit our website, you can:

Accept all — allow optional cookies;
Decline all — decline non-essential cookies; or
Manage cookies — choose your individual cookie preferences.

You can change your choices at any time using the Cookie Preferences control displayed on the website.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

9. Who we share information with

We may share personal information with trusted service providers where necessary to operate our website or business.

These may include website hosting and technology providers, analytics providers, professional advisers and other suppliers supporting our business operations.

Our principal website technology providers currently include Squarespace and Google Analytics.

We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process or a competent authority.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

10. International data transfers

JFTB Events is based in the United Arab Emirates and works internationally. Some of the technology providers we use may process or store information in countries other than the country in which you are located.

Where applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we and our service providers will rely on appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for those transfers.

11. How long we keep information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to enquiries, managing business relationships, fulfilling contractual obligations and meeting applicable legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.

Retention periods therefore vary depending on the nature of the information and our relationship with you.

When personal information is no longer required, we will delete it or otherwise dispose of it appropriately, subject to any legal or legitimate business requirements to retain it.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the data-protection laws that apply, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • request deletion of your personal information in certain circumstances;

  • request restriction of processing;

  • object to certain processing;

  • request transfer of your information where applicable; and

  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the details in Section 1.

Where applicable, you may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection or supervisory authority in your country. For UK residents, information about data-protection rights and complaints is available from the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

13. Security

We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss.

However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including LinkedIn and websites relating to clients, events or selected experience.

JFTB Events is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites. We recommend reviewing the privacy information provided by those organisations when visiting their sites.
